The top seed got the job done with little fuss on Thursday, completing a 6-2 6-1 victory in just 63 minutes.
Alcaraz, who is in the hunt for his first indoor trophy, turned on the style to make light work of his Italian opponent.
The Spaniard set the tone by breaking Vavassori in the first game, though he did have to fend off a break point to go 3-1 up in the opening set.
Another break saw Alcaraz take the set at the first time of asking, and he did not look back from there, powering through the second with three straight breaks, including in the last game, which the world number three won when Vavassori went wrong.
That was after Alcaraz had teed up match point with a slick backhand winner.
"It is a great honour to be nominated for the FIH Player of the Year Award again," the Indian defender stated in a Hockey India release.
