This is the first Boxing Day Test match in Zimbabwe in 28 years. For Afghanistan, AM Ghazanfar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/127 as the Afghan Atlans had no answer to the Zimbabwe batting on the second day.

Earlier, Zimbabwe skipper Irvine had won the toss and decided to bat first.
