22win Payal Kapadia Bags Nomination At DGA Awards 2025 After Golden Globes Snub

The Directors Guild of America (DGA)22win, announced the nominations for the upcoming 2025 awards, on Wednesday night. Payal Kapadia secured nomination for her feature film debut All We Imagine As Light in the first-time director category, reported PTI.
Payal will compete with Megan Park for My Old Ass, RaMell Ross for Nickel Boys, Halfdan Ullmann Tondel for Armand, and Sean Wang for Didi, in the first-time director category at DGA Awards 2025.
Payal Kapadia recently missed out on Best Director in the Motion Picture category at Golden Globe award to Brady Corbet for his film The Brutalist. All We Imagine As Light also lost to France's Emilia Pérez in the Best Motion Picture-Non-English Language category at the 82nd Golden Globes.

All We Imagine As Light, starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam in key roles, won the prestigious Grand Prix award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The critically-acclaimed film bagged three nominations on the 2025 BAFTA longlist- Best Director, Original Screenplay and Best Film not in the English language.
It received awards at Gotham Awards, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Phoenix Critics Circle, San Diego Film Critics Society, New York Film Critics Circle, Toronto Film Critics Association, among others.
All We Imagine As Light has also met the eligibility criteria for the prestigious Best Picture category at Oscars 2025, along with other six Indian films- Kanguva, Girls Will Be Girls, Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), Santosh22win, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar and Putul.
