The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is just around the corner, with the T20 cricket tournament scheduled to commence on December 30 and conclude on February 7, 2025. (More Cricket News)

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a thrilling lineup of seven teams, including Chittagong Kings, Dhaka Capitals, Durbar Rajshahi, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers.

This season's BPL will feature a double round-robin format, with 46 matches to be played across three premier venues: Dhaka's Shere Bangla National Stadium, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, and Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The team led by Ammad Butt, finally secured their first victory with a 2-1 win over Japan and then delivered a decisive 5-1 win against China, to enter the semi-finals. Their final pool match ended in a narrow 2-1 loss to India.

The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs, with the third- and fourth-placed teams facing off in the Eliminator. The top two teams will battle for a spot in the final through Qualifier 1, while the winner of the Eliminator will take on the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2.

Reigning champions Fortune Barishal will be looking to defend their title, having secured a six-wicket victory over Comilla Victorians in the 2024 final. However, this season will mark a notable absence, as Comilla Victorians, the most successful team in the Bangladesh T20 League with four titles, will not be participating.
